In the 90s there came a popular TV series, called The Revenge. It’s a story of a girl who why is taken everything away from her. But with her dedication, perseverance and faith, she got it all back. While taking revenge from our enemies. It’s a very captivating crime thriller, but also shows you, what a seemingly average looking person is capable of doing? This famous quote came from that TV serial:
“To succeed, a revolution requires absolute dedication against overwhelming odds.”
Now, if you ask me absolute dedication for what? I would say, in one word, it’s all about FOCUS. The girl was focused so much that without achieving the intended goal, her life felt useless. Her dedication was so deadly that nothing dared to come in between her and the goal.
So, in other words, dedication calls for focus. And focus calls for concentration.
Concentration is the essence of all knowledge, and meditation plays an important role in strengthening one’s concentration. – Swami Vivekananda
Let’s imagine for a second…
You have read a lot of books, watched a lot of motivational videos on YouTube and did some deep research on Google for success. Still, you’re not there in life yet, where you wanted to be. You may be making $100,000 a year but you know for sure that your true potential calls for making $500,000 a year. So, you’re constantly questioning yourself, where am I missing the boat?
And that is the riddle we are going to decipher for today. I’ll give you four things without twitch achieving your real Potential would be next to impossible. I myself have a red countless number of books ever since I was 13 years old. Went through a lot of trainings. Hired a lot of good Mentors. But everybody had the one cardinal problem. They all were too busy talking about how then why. So even after I did, whatever they asked me to do, I could not find the real SUCCESS in my life.
Let me explain the relationship between WHY and HOW:
If you have a why, you will find the how, said the famous German philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche. I came across this sentence when I was going to college. But this one sentence has influenced my life so much that I made the mantra for my life. And here is why…
Why – it is the main reason for you to achieve your goal. Do you know other words it’s sort of your destination. Stronger the reason, faster are the chances of achieving your goal.
How – once you find the real reason, then you find how to get to that goal. This one is sort of a roadmap, that guides you how to get to your destination.
To clarify it a little more, let me share it to the famous quote from Dr. Stephens or Covey…
Leadership deals with direction.
Management deals with speed, logistics, coordination and going into that direction.
And, unfortunately, most of the people, most of the time leaves in the management quadrant. So much so that whenever you talk to someone about a dream or a goal, right away, they will go into how to do it mode. And the moment you get into “HOW,” you start thinking talking and visualizing about all the difficulties, and all the reason why it’s not possible.
On the other hand, successful people, make sure the reason for which they want to do certain thing, is the right reason. In other words, they hone their “WHY.” Trust me, more clear, you are about your why, the faster you will achieve your goal.
The thing that really makes me sad is not only regular people in their daily life leave continuously into how mode, but also corporations and businesses, do the same mistake. You pick up any business, which is extremely successful, I’ll show you how much they worked on their WHY.
I know we’re getting a little bit philosophical here, but without that, it will be a long arduous journey for you to achieve your goal.
Now, let’s take care of the fun part. I’m going to give you a formula that I dare to challenge you that nobody has ever brought to you before all the elements of this formula at one place. Yes, this is the actual an exact missing link for your success:
Energy
Focus (concentration)
Let me give you a simple formula for success, which works like clockwise, if you follow it…
E + F = S
ENERGY + FOCUS = SUCCESS
Now let’s look at this output equation below:
On this chart, look at the difference between using your energy and focus to its fullest level, versus using them partially… the results are astronomical.
Say, for example, on the scale, one to 10, if you use 10 points of your energy, 10 points of your focus and 10 points of your time, that will eat your result of 1000.
On the other hand, if you use only 5 points of your energy, one point of your focus and one point of your time, that produces you a result of minuscular 5.
That is the reason, you got to have your eyes on the right amount of energy, focus, and also the right place where you’re putting your time. Now we’ll go one by one, how to gather them and use them to your benefit. If you mastered this art, you will never need to look back in life.
So, previously, we were talking about the famous line from the TV series, The Revenge…
“To succeed, a revolution requires absolute dedication against overwhelming odds.”
Dedication means what?
Focus (when you are dedicated, you will have focus)
Focus means what?
Concentration. (when you are focused, you will concentrate on the thing at hand)
Concentration is the essence of all knowledge.
How do you concentrate/focus?
Through deep meditation and watching your thoughts.
PS: Here, take some notes from Jim Fortin’s pages.
Concentration (Focus) has two parts:
Meditation
Vigilance on your thoughts
Both of them go hand-in-hand. And each complement one another. I know you are used to hear from people that in order to achieve your goals you need to do a regular session of meditation or visualization. My question is, if it was that easy, why everybody that tried visualizing a goal every day, did not achieve it?
And here is the reason, your negative thoughts. It’s like you are driving a car in full speed at the same time. You have also activated the handbrake. Do you think the car will be able to give you the optimum, speed or mileage? Absolutely not. It’s exactly like that. You may visualize your goal three times a day. But if you do not keep on clearing up, your negative thoughts every hour of the day, you might still be able to get some, but definitely not the optimum desired result.
That’s why they say, eternal vigilance is the price of mastery.
Vigilance on what?
Your thought process.
One of the biggest enemies of success is doubt and fear. And when it’s supported by jealousy, anxiety, depression, and all that, you got the picture.
And I’ll go into more details as we get deeper into it. Just bear with me.
Now, we have the first part of the equation, which is concentration (Focus).
Let’s talk about the second part, which is ENERGY…
Someone once told me,
Where your attention goes, energy flows.
In other words, the more attentive you are in preserving and creating your energy, faster you will get to your goal.
“When you make your health your #1 priority the rest becomes so much easier.” — Tim Ferriss
All my life my definition of health was to look muscular and all that. But after in my 50’s I discover a simple definition of health, “If you have got enough energy that carries you through the day, you are healthy.”
Yes, look at a child. So full of energy. But when she gets tired, just goes to sleep. So close to nature. As the famous poet Virgil says, HEALTH IS WEALTH.
“Follow the Energy” …. I found Jack Butcher’s advice so handy that I started thinking in terms of “What robs me of energy and what gives me energy?” A bad life is full of low energy; a good life is high energy. — Tim Ferriss
Energy has two parts:
Cleaning your gut
Regular physical exercise
Cleaning your gut — let’s think about the gutter on our roof. Do you think it’s healthy for the house if the gutters on the roof are clogged? With the same token, how efficiently do you think your body will work, if your intestine is clogged up? If you’re thinking about Constipation, you are absolutely correct. In fact, in Ayurveda, constipation is called the mother of all disease. Beware of it. But this is not the only reason for a clogged-up intestine. There are several others too. The best thing you can do is continuously keeping your pipeline clean, with regular detox. Whatever you’re eating is digested properly, you’ll have a clean bowel movement. Then, there is no reason you should not have enough energy for the day that you need. Mother Nature has built our body to heal by itself and to be healthy, not to be sick. It’s only when the food that we are eating are not actual food. I call it food-like substance. All these artificial foods with preservatives and frozen foods and fast foods I’m doing our body Moore harm today, then ever before in human history. You got to eat healthy. You’ve got to keep your gut clean.
Second part to have enough energy for the day is to get into regular exercise. I’m talking about both, aerobic and strength training.
The Importance of Regular Exercise
Do whatever you want to do, but, if you do not exercise (and you are 50+) your HIPPOCAMPUS (which is responsible for learning and memory)… will get a reduction in its size… leading to memory problems.
Exercising increases the volume of the HIPPOCAMPUS, safeguarding an individual against dementia.
The Importance of Vigorous Physical Activity
By cutting out practicably on vigorous physical activity, we tend to lose some of the flexibility of our joints. Lack of exercise causes our capillaries to constrict and virtually disappear, and the supply of live giving blood through our tissues is drastically curtailed. Vigorous exercise is necessary to dilate the capillaries which feed all the body tissues and remove waste products.
Our "old age" can be postponed by slowing down the rate of waste production, or by helping the system to get rid of waste. In the human body the capillaries are the channels through which waste is removed. It has definitely been established that lack of exercise and inactivity literally dries up the capillaries. —- Maxwell Maltz in Psycho Cybernetics
“If an egg is broken by an outside force, life ends. If broken by an inside force, life begins. Great things always begin from the inside.” — Jim Kwik
Where your attention goes, energy flows.
How do you control your attention?
Through your thought process.
Concentration is the essence of all knowledge.
How do you concentrate/focus?
Through deep meditation.
Eternal vigilance is the price of mastery.
Vigilance on what?
Focus and Energy.
So, to get two things, energy and concentration,
Think about your thoughts and meditation;
All the time. It's a continuous process.
Remember, a revolution requires absolute dedication against overwhelming odds.
Don't take it easy. It's nothing less than a revolution inside yourself.
Always focus on your thoughts and meditation sessions.
Through constant vigilance on your thoughts.

"Fit your life" into it, not other way around
"Fit your life into It, don't fit it into your life.”
Why it is critical to make this your #1 commitment?
Imagine you're picking up a habit of getting up early…
If you try to “Fit this into” your life…
You are already working from your old context.
“Fit your life” into this new habit, discipline or commitment.
Your life should rotate/spin around creating this new habit.
In other words, if you want to get up at 5 o'clock in the morning, You should create a lifestyle that fits in this new habit.
But, if you try to create this new habit that fits into your lifestyle…
Then you will be working from your old context… doomed to fail.
Chronic stress and anxiety can wreak havoc on your physical health.
We can’t heal the body without healing the mind.
Meditation upgrades thought.

The Importance of Rule of Three
Follow these 3 things religiously as if your life depends on it:
Make sleeping a priority
Make meditation a priority
Make eating raw foods a priority
Dr. Daniel G. Amen in, "Unleashing the power of the female brain," wrote…
My prescription for a healthy brain includes, a healthy diet and proper nutrition, exercising the brain and body, and ample sleep, of course. Overall, a burning desire to train your brain.
The Importance of the Pruning Shears of Revision
In his 1954 lecture, “The Pruning Shears of Revision,” Neville Goddard recommends…
“At the end of every day, before you go to sleep, think through the events of the day. If any events or moments did not go the way you wanted, replay them in your mind in a way that thrills you. As you recreate those events in your mind exactly as you want, you are cleaning up your frequency from the day and you are emitting a new signal and frequency for tomorrow. You have intentionally created new pictures for your future. It is never too late to change the pictures.” Consult this chapter from The Secret, on page #73…
The Importance of Green, Leafy Vegetables
A recent study in the medial journal NEUROLOGY reported that eating about a cup (one serving) of fresh leafy vegetables daily like kale, lettuce or spinach may help support healthy brain function in older adults. The authors attributed these benefits to nitrates and folate in these vegetables.

The Importance of Sitting Quietly
“You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.” —Franz Kafka (Austrian philosopher & poet)
The flip side of a Plan-B
Once you have a plan-b, it becomes very difficult to convince your subconscious, that this is exactly what you need. For logical issues and solutions, you can have as many plans as you wish, but when it comes to the subconscious, you need conviction. The subconscious communicates in feelings, so your feelings need to be sincere when making auto suggestions. Having no plan-b also enables you to focus completely on your target, leaving no doubt in your mind, that you will do everything possible to achieve your goal.
In order to understand the SUCCESS SECRET, it might be helpful to learn about the FAILURE SECRET first.
Failure Secrets
First, I want to share with you three Ps of the failure secrets that will never fail you to fail:
Poor planning
Procrastination
Perfectionism
Success Secrets
And the Secret to Success has these two words,
Systems, and
Association
Poor planning – if you look at any successful person, you will see one of the biggest reason for her success was a well-planned map to get to her destination. I have found it in my life even on the small level. If I plan for my day the night before, I always have a better grip on my next day.
Procrastination – I always used to wonder why people procrastinate. Why I procrastinate? Then I found out that, I always like to do the things that interests me and procrastinate on the less interesting things. The answer, once I had developed the habit to do a certain job, I had to depend more less on my discipline and will power, resulting in less procrastination.
Perfectionism – in 1969 there came an article in Reader’s Digest, “Are you a perfectionist?” When I read that article, I discovered how much this perfectionism habit can hurt me? My mother always used to say, “If you did a job halfway decent, but you finished it on time, you’ll be a success.” And I’m proud to say that barring a couple of exceptions like balancing my bank account ledger book etc. I tried to finish the job on time, and after that paradigm shift most of the time I had been successful. And also, most of the time If I had started something I generally used to finish it no matter how small the job might be. Today I look at perfectionism as a big flaw in someone’s character. So many dreams, so many ideas never saw the daylight just because we like to do everything, the very first time in a perfect way. When I stand in front of the mirror, I see even my body which was created by the supreme power, is not perfect. Maybe my left eye is bigger than my right eye or something else, or something else. So, my question is if God is not perfect, why humans like us try to be perfect? It is one of the biggest timewaster in our life.
Now that you have a rough idea that how people hurt themselves by following those three P’s, let us delve into the nitty-gritty of success system.
Success Secrets
This is the most practical and fail-safe system for success. All you need to do is to do two things:
Create a system
Find an association
(1) Why it is important to create a system?
Someone has very aptly said,
“Losers of goals, winners have systems.” – Scott Adams (The Dilbert Principal)
I’m a big believer of this line because I found in my own life, whenever I create a system, a routine based on a schedule, to do something, day in and day out, my chances of success go sky high. Why? Because system creates a habit. And that habit brings us closer to the finish line. For example, follow the system of Tiny Habits the phrase which was coined by its writer named BJ Fogg… to achieve a goal. Unless we develop some high-level systems and strategies, it will be harder for us to achieve any substantial goal.
Without a system you cannot carry through any endeavor that you want to take, for a prolong time. And without associating with the like-minded people, whom you can look at as your accountability partner, people who would push you ahead, people who are among the top 33%, and not in the middle or bottom order, will propel you forward. Now, John said, “But SUNNY, I don’t have any good association like you’re talking about. What should I do?” Simple answer, associate with the leaders in your field through their books, videos, lectures and blogs. It will guarantee your success. So once again, you will have to have a solid system, an well-oiled machine to achieve your goals. And number two is you’ll have to have a continuous association with other successful people in your field of endeavor. With these people you can brainstorm, they will inspire you, they will push you ahead, they will pick you up when you fall on your face in life. These people will fill you up with energy and confidence. They will bring you happiness. Above all, they will uplift your self-image.
So, this is how it goes,
First, you create a goal with a deadline
Then you plan and create a system (that creates a habit)
Your habit supplies you with action, almost like it’s on auto pilot
And your action gets you achieve the manifestation of your goal.
In short, you are going from…
Goal ——to —— SYSTEM (Habit)
SYSTEM ——to —— Action
Action ——to —— Manifestation
Long story short, developing some high-level SYSTEMS and STRATEGIES, are the keys to get to the finish line no matter what kind of endeavor you choose. Later on, we shall discuss with some practical steps to create your system for a project.
And the bottom line of a system in our life is, it starts with a daily routine. How many of us plan our day the night before? How many people plan their week ahead? Steven COVEY emphasizes the value in his book 7 habits of highly effective people, about planning for your week in advance. He says that it will bring you both short time and long-term consequences in our lives. He calls it the biggest tool for time management, your quadrant #2.
Just think for a moment and you’ll find that we all should have,
A system for Time management
A system for gathering knowledge
A system for achieving optimum health
A system for creating great relationships
A system for rest and recreation
A system for mental relaxation and meditation.
Nothing happens without a well-planned system. Systems are the keys to your success.
(2) Why your association is so important for your success?
I found this line in a movie where the hero says,
“Any fool can be a hero at any given moment. Is the date today leaving that wears you out.” And I agree with this statement from the bottom of my heart. Why? Because I know for sure that if I have the right ASSOCIATION, that will help expedite the manifestation of my goals.
So, once you create a solid system, you’ll need an ASSOCIATION, an accountability partner. For example, if you want to build muscles, hire a gym trainer. That will guarantee your success. If you want to be rich, make a couple of Millionaire friends. It is that easy.
Let me share with you a personal story that taught me the value of a good association:
Those days I had a used BMW 5-Series Black Sedan and my wife was driving a nice Volkswagen sedan, which was giving her a fantastic mileage with diesel and we were very happy for that. But she always wanted a Lexus SUV. I found that a new SUV in those days he used to cost more than $50,000, so I was drifting. I had a good friend who was also my business partner. He was very successful in his field, living in a 14,000 square-foot house with five car garage and making millions. He used to drive a beautiful Lexus SUV. One day it needed some parallel parking in the downtown and he asked me to park it for him because he did not know how to do it. Even though I did it but I started thinking that here is the guy who even does not know how to do the parallel parking and driving this beautiful SUV. Add within three months from the occurrence of the thought, I was driving a brand new, all loaded Lexus SUV RX 350. It was a life-changing experience. When I was a senior in high school, my mother got me a private tutor who was a bookworm. He also became my friend and sometimes he would stay over our house and both of us would study together. He was just two years senior than me. Those days I had a serious issue on focusing on a single project on any given time, let alone, studying for hours. But with this constant association, in less than six months, I became a bookworm, just like him.
I know someone who wanted to get into some form of yoga but did not know what to do and where to go. So he associated with a relative who was also interested in those things like yoga and meditation. They were talking on the phone almost every day and fine-tuned it. But even though his partner started doing it, he could not, because he did not have that kind of self-discipline. Now, since his partner was doing that single exercise every day for 15 minutes (it is called Kapalbhati, which is the mother of all pranayama), he also wanted my friend to be a part of it. So he kept on asking my friend, when it will start? My friend kept on giving him excuses, I cannot get up early in the morning. By the time I wake up I’m hungry and you told me to do it in the empty stomach. By the time I’m done with my breakfast and all that I’m just super busy. Long story short, I don’t have time in the morning hours. He kept on continuously reminding my friend to do it and my friend kept on promising him yes, yes, I’m working on it. But it was not happening for over three months. Then one day he got a little upset with my friend and asked this simple question, “Are you telling me you even do not have five minutes in the morning to do it?” My friend said, no I can probably squeeze five minutes. Then he was advised not even to do it for five minutes. This guy told my friend, why don’t you just start with one minute. As it progresses, keep on increasing it by me that every week. And before long, my friend was hooked on it. Fast forward, it has been 12 long years, but my friend always does that one yoga breathing practice for 15 minutes in the morning. It has become his habit. And his association helped him creating this habit.
So, whenever you like to change or acquire a new habit, that’s hard. The only way I know of is first, let’s create a system and then, associate with the right people, it will get you there.

How to Find the Answer to a Pressing Problem
Before going to sleep, close your eyes and tell yourself, “I am finding the answer to _____ problem.”
For example, say you need to find a mentor. When you go to bed, ask with your name, “John, how can I find a mentor?”
When you wake up in the morning, before putting your feet on the floor when getting out of bed, ask yourself, “John, did you find the answer to my problem?” And you’ll have the answer ready for you.
How to Get Rid of Pain Quickly and Easily
Visualize you’re placing an order on the menu of the universe to get rid of your pounding headache at this moment.
This is what you need to do. Just close your eyes and say something like this, “My headache will be gone in the next four hours before lunchtime today. Close your eyes, inhale three times, exhale three times. Visualize it and then say, “I believe it because it’s true.” And then release it. It takes less than a minute, but it has a magical power in it. Try it some time and you’ll thank me.

Technique #1:https://youtu.be/Nwuql4JNDmsNeural Linking with a Mirror:
Dress up nicely as if you’re going to work or to a party.
Go in front of the mirror, close your eyes and think about the moment when you achieve something worthwhile, you were at the peak of any successful endeavor. Like you performed something real well, or you got an award, or you broke your previous sales records etc.
Now you open your eyes and, in the mirror, keep on looking at yourself continuously in the eyes for two full minutes.
It creates a very high self-image in your mind by creating a new reality.
Sit down with your journal and start writing all the positive points you see inside yourself.
Say for example if you wrote five positive points then also write the reasons that how they’re helping you? Or these five positive qualities why are they important to begin with?
Then review this journal page for the next 21 days.
That sends a message in your mind that I am worthy, I’m important, I’m significant.
And based on this newfound information your mind creates your new self-image. Which is a better picture of yourself, a better self-image.
Technique #3:https://youtu.be/tC-6hxFEXF4Emulate someone you Adore:
Close your eyes and imagine about a person that you admire, e.g. Best life insurance agent, Ben Feldman, whose name is inside Ginny’s Book of World Records; Or just think about Mike Maloney… and start your visualization as if he’s standing right in front of you and you are getting inside his body. You have started talking, moving and doing everything else just like him. You are a clone of your avatar. Just in 2 to 3 days of practice, will make you realize that you are getting more self-confident, and your self-image is improving. Follow Confidence for Life Audio CD by Paul McKenna.
Master of Confidence Audio CD by Paul McKenna: Think of someone who’s confidence and charisma you’d like to emulate. Run through your mind this role model and his behavior. If it helps do one in slow motion. Now, position your body and copy their posture. Not in your imagination but for real. Keep doing it until you have a strong sense to be your role model. Let your mind and body learn what it is like to be a master of confidence.
Technique #4:https://youtu.be/tC-6hxFEXF4Journaling 10 Success Anecdotes:
Start journaling small evidence, your small successes. For example, just now I had a very good talk with my son, and I told him how important it is to flush his teeth to keep his brain healthy, which is his biggest power. When you write in your journal about little successes, that boosts your confidence. Which boosts your self-image. Write the things that I told Sunny and India and it changed his life. The big building of success is always built on a small brick of successful events in your life. Just write 5 to 10 successful events of your life. When you write these small achievements, your mind start thinking that if I could do these small things I can also achieve bigger things. Doing it for 21 days will create magic in your life.
Technique #5:https://youtu.be/tC-6hxFEXF4Read Autobiography of your Role Models:
See similar people and read their biography: it should be especially in your own field of endeavor. In insurance you can read the books of Ben Feldman. In sales and marketing, you can read the book of Jay Abraham… etc. And as they say when you hang around with giants, you’ll become a giant with certainty. You will create the giant inside you. Because when you are reading their books and see what they have done you’re training your brain to learn that if these people do it I can do it too.
Technique #6:https://youtu.be/tC-6hxFEXF4Take massive action:
Study as hard as possible and learn how to change your self-image. And then jump into it wholeheartedly. Practice it and then implement it. For example, if you want to jog, if you want to run, all you need to do is, tell yourself 300 times a day, “I’m a runner.” That’s it. It will hardwire your brain, and will start doing it, guaranteed. If you want to get up early, just tell yourself continuously, I’m an early riser. And soon enough, you’ll start doing it.
Technique #7Do some deep breathing and say it 300 times:
“I’ve the best memory like a Libra or Virgo.”
“I love to walk because I’m a walker.”
“I make $40k a month easily and effortlessly.”
“Day by day, in every way, I’m becoming my authentic self.”

Psycho-Cybernetics Practice Exercises
The method itself consists in learning, practicing, and experiencing, new habits of thinking, imagining, remembering, and acting in order to
(1) develop an adequate and realistic Self-image, and
(2) use your Creative Mechanism to bring success and happiness in achieving particular goals.
If you can remember, worry, or tie your shoe, you can succeed.
As you will see later, the method to be used consists of
creative mental picturing,
creatively experiencing through your imagination, and
the formation of new automatic reaction patterns by “acting out” and “acting as if.”
PRACTICE EXERCISE NO. 1 (Page 30)DISCOVERING THE SUCCESS MECHANISM WITHIN YOUGet a New Mental Picture of Yourself
The unhappy, failure-type personality cannot develop a new self-image by pure will power, or by arbitrarily deciding to. There must be some grounds, some justification, some reason for deciding that the old picture of self is in error, and that a new picture is appropriate. You cannot merely imagine a new self-image; unless you feel that it is based upon truth. Experience has shown that when a per- son does change his self-image, he has the feeling that for one reason or another, he “sees,” or realizes the truth about himself.
The truth in this chapter can set you free of an old in- adequate self-image, if you read it often, think intentlyabout the implications, and “hammer home” its truths to yourself.
Science has now confirmed what philosophers, mystics, and other intuitive people have long declared: every human being has been literally “engineered for success” by his Creator. Every human being has access to a power greater than himself.
This means “YOU.”
As Emerson has said, “There are no great and no small.”
If you were engineered for success and happiness, then the old picture of yourself as unworthy of happiness, of a person who was “meant” to fail, must be in error.
Read this chapter through at least three times per week for the first 21 days. Study it and digest it Look for examples in your experiences, and the experiences of your friends, which illustrate the creative mechanism in action.
Memorize the following basic principles by which your success mechanism operates. You do not need to be an electronic engineer, or a physicist, to operate your own servo-mechanism, any more than you have to be able to engineer an automobile in order to drive one, or become an electrical engineer in order to turn on the light in your room. You do need to be familiar with the following, however, because having memorized them, they will throw “new light” on what is to follow:
PRACTICE EXERCISE # 1
Get a New Mental Picture of Yourself
Read these chapters through at least 3 times per week for the first 21 days.Fake it till you make it
1. Your built-in success mechanism must have a goal or “target.” This goal, or target, must be conceived of as “already in existence — now” either in actual or potential form. It operates by either,
(1) Steering you to a goal already in existence or by
(2) “Discovering” something already in existence.
If you have a WHY you’ll find the HOW
The automatic mechanism is teleological, that is, operates, or must be oriented to “end results,” goals. Do not be discouraged because the “means whereby” may not be apparent. It is the function of the automatic mechanism to supply the “means whereby” when you supply the goal. Think in terms of the end result, and the means whereby will often take care of themselves.
Be Hungry, Be Foolish – Steve Jobs
3. Do not be afraid of making mistakes, or of temporary failures. All servo-mechanisms achieve a goal by negative feedback, or by going forward, making mistakes, and immediately correcting course.
Learn by Trial & Error
4. Skill learning of any kind is accomplished by trial and error, mentally correcting aim after an error, until a “successful” motion, movement or performance has been achieved. After that, further learning, and continued success, is accomplished by forgetting the past ‘errors, and remembering the successful response, so that it can be “imitated.”
Act on it but Don’t Push
5. You must learn to trust your creative mechanism to do its work and not “jam it” by becoming too concerned or too anxious as to whether it will work or not, or by attempting to force it by too much conscious effort. You must “let it” work, rather than “make it” work. This trust is necessary because your creative mechanism operates below the level of consciousness, and you cannot “know” what is going on beneath the surface. Moreover, its nature is to operate spontaneously according to present need. Therefore, you have no guarantees in advance. It comes into operation as you act and as you place a demand upon it by your actions. You must not wait to act until you have proof—you must act as if it is there, and it will come through. “Do the thing and you will have the power,” said Emerson.
PRACTICE EXERCISE NO. 2
IMAGINATION – THE FIRST KEY TO YOUR SUCCESS MECHANISM
“Hold a picture of yourself long and steadily enough in your mind’s eye and you will be drawn toward it,” said Dr. Harry Emerson Fosdick. “Picture yourself vividly as defeated and that alone will make victory impossible. Picture yourself vividly as winning and that alone will con- tribute immeasurably to success. Great living starts with a picture, held in your imagination, of what you would like to do or be.”
Your present self-image was built upon your own imagination pictures of yourself in the past which grew out of interpretations and evaluations which you placed upon experience. Now you are to use the same method to build an adequate self-image that you previously used to build an inadequate one.
Set aside a period of 30 minutes each day where you can be alone and undisturbed. Relax and make yourself as comfortable as possible. Now close your eyes and exercise your imagination.
Many people find they get better results if they imagine themselves sitting before a large motion picture screen— and imagine that they are seeing a motion picture of them- selves. The important thing is to make these pictures as vivid and as detailed as possible. You want your mental pictures to approximate actual experience as much as possible. The way to do this is pay attention to small details, sights, sounds, objects, in your imagined environment. One of my patients was using this exercise to overcome her fear of the dentist. She was unsuccessful, until she began to notice small details in her imagined picture—the smell of the antiseptic in the office, the feel of the leather on the chair arms, the sight of the dentist’s well-manicured nails as his hands approached her mouth, etc. Details of the imagined environment are all-important in this exercise, because for all practical purposes, you are creating a practice experience. And if the imagination is vivid enough and detailed enough, your imagination practice is equivalent to an actual experience, insofar as your nervous system is concerned.
The next important thing to remember is that during these 30 minutes you see yourself acting and reacting appropriately, successfully, ideally. It doesn’t matter how you acted yesterday. You do not need to try to have faith you will act in the ideal way tomorrow. Your nervous system will take care of that in time—if you continue to practice. See yourself acting, feeling, “being,” as you want to be. Do not say to yourself, “I am going to act this way to- morrow.” Just say to yourself—”I am going to imagine myself acting in this way now—for 30 minutes—today.” Imagine how you would feel if you were already the sort of personality you want to be. If you have been shy and timid, see yourself moving among people with ease and poise—and feeling good because of it. If you have been fearful and anxious in certain situations—see yourself acting calmly and deliberately, acting with confidence and courage—and feeling expansive and confident because you are.
This exercise builds new “memories” or stored data into your mid-brain and central nervous system. It builds a new image of self. After practicing it for a time, you will be surprised to find yourself “acting differently,” more or less automatically and spontaneously—”without trying.” This is as it should be. You do not need to “take thought” or “try” or make an effort now in order to feel ineffective and act inadequately. Your present inadequate feeling and doing is automatic and spontaneous, because of the memories, real and imagined, you have built into your automatic mechanism. You will find it will work just as automatically upon positive thoughts and experiences as upon negative ones. (Page 53)
PRACTICE EXERCISE NO. 3
DEHYPNOTIZE YOURSELF FROM FALSE BELIEFS
How to Use Mental Pictures to Relax
PRACTICE EXERCISE
(To be practiced for at least 30 minutes daily)
Seat yourself comfortably in an easy chair or lie down on your back. Consciously “let go” the various muscle groups as much as possible without making too much of an effort of it. Just consciously pay attention to the various parts of your body and let go a little. You will find that you can always voluntarily relax to a certain degree. You can stop frowning and let your forehead relax. You can ease up a little on the tension in your jaws. You can let your hands, your arms, your shoulders, legs, become a little more relaxed than they are. Spend about five minutes on this and then stop paying any attention to your muscles. This is as far as you are going to try to go by conscious control. From here on you will relax more and more by using your creative mechanism to automatically bring about a relaxed condition. In short, you are going to use “goal pictures,” held in imagination and let your automatic mechanism realize those goals for you.
Mental Picture No. 1
In your mind’s eye see yourself lying stretched out upon the bed. Form a picture of your legs as they would look if made of concrete. See yourself lying there with two very heavy concrete legs. See these very heavy concrete legs sulking far down into the mattress from their sheer weight. Now picture your arms and hands as made of concrete. They also are very heavy and are sinking down into the bed and exerting tremendous pressure against the bed. In your mind’s eye see a friend come into the room and attempt to lift your heavy concrete legs. He takes hold of your feet and attempts to lift them. But they are too heavy for him. He cannot do it. Repeat with arms, neck, etc.
Mental Picture No. 2
Your body is a big marionette doll. Your hands are tied loosely to your wrists by strings. Your forearm is connected loosely by a string to your upper arm. Your upper arm is connected very loosely by a string to your shoulder. Your feet, calves, thighs, are also connected together with a single string. Your neck consists of one very limp string. The strings which control your jaw and hold your lips together have slackened and stretched to such an ex- tent that your chin has dropped down loosely against your chest. All the various strings which connect the various parts of your body are loose and limp and your body is just sprawled loosely across the bed.
Mental Picture No. 3
Your body consists of a series of inflated rubber balloons. Two valves open in your feet, and the air begins to escape from your legs. Your legs begin to collapse and continue until they consist only of deflated rubber tubes, lying flat against the bed. Next a valve is opened in your chest and as the air begins to escape, your entire trunk begins to collapse limply against the bed. Continue with arms, head, and neck.
Mental Picture No. 4
Many people will find this the most relaxing of all. Just go back in memory to some relaxing and pleasant scene from your past. There is always some time in everyone’s life when he felt relaxed, at ease, and at peace with the world. Pick out your own relaxing picture from your past and call up detailed memory images. Yours may be a peaceful scene at a mountain lake where you went fishing.
If so, pay particular attention to the little incidental things in the environment. Remember the quiet ripples on the water. What sounds were present? Did you hear the quiet rustling of the leaves? Maybe you remember sitting perfectly relaxed, and somewhat drowsy before an open fire- place long ago. Did the logs crackle and spark? What other sights and sounds were present? Maybe you choose to remember relaxing in the sun on a beach. How did the sand feel against your body? Could you feel the warm re- laxing sun, touching your body, almost as a physical thing? Was there a breeze blowing? Were there gulls on the beach? The more of these incidental details you can remember and picture to yourself, the more successful you will be.
Daily practice will bring these mental pictures, or memories, clearer and clearer. The effect of learning will also be cumulative. Practice will strengthen the tie-in be- tween mental image and physical sensation. You will be- come more and more proficient in relaxation, and this in itself will be “remembered” in future practice sessions. ((Page 71)
PRACTICE EXERCISE NO. 4 (Page 260)
“HOW TO GET THAT WINNING FEELING”
How to Play Back Your Own Built-in Success Patterns
Everyone has at some time or another been successful in the past. It does not have to have been a big success. All that is needed is some experience where you succeeded in doing what you wanted to, in achieving what you set out to achieve, and something that brought you some feeling of satisfaction.
Go back in memory and relive those successful experiences. In your imagination revive the entire picture in as much detail as you can. In your mind’s eye “see” not only speech, business deal, golf tournament, or whatever, that accompanied your success. What sounds were there? What about your environment? What else was happening around you at the time? What objects were present? What time of year was it? Were you cold or hot? And so forth. The more detailed you can make it, the better. If you can remember in sufficient detail just what happened when you were successful at some time in the past, you will find yourself feeling just as you felt then. Try to particularly remember your feelings at the time. If you can remember your feelings from the past, they will be reactivated in the present. You will find yourself feeling self-confident because self-confidence is built upon memories of past successes.
Now, after arousing this “general feeling of success,” give your thoughts to the important sale, conference, speech, business deal, golf tournament, or whatever that you wish to succeed in now. Use your creative imagination to picture to yourself just how you would act and just how you would feel if you had already succeeded.
Positive and Constructive Worry
Mentally, begin to play with the idea of complete and inevitable success. Don’t force yourself. Don’t attempt to coerce your mind. Don’t try to use effort or will power to bring about the desired conviction. Just do what you do when you worry, only “worry” about a positive goal and a desirable outcome, rather than about a negative goal and an undesirable outcome.
Don’t begin by trying to force yourself to have absolute faith in the desired success. This is too big a bite for you to mentally digest—at first. Use “gradualness.” Begin to think about the desired end result as you do when you worry about the future. When you worry, you do not attempt to convince yourself that the outcome will be un- desirable. Instead, you begin gradually. You usually be- gin with a “suppose.” “Just suppose such and such a thing happens,” you say mentally to yourself. You repeat this idea over and over to yourself. You “play with it.” Next comes the idea of “possibility.” “Well, after all,” you say, “Such a thing is possible.” It could happen. Next comes mental imagery. You begin to picture to yourself all the various negative possibilities. You play these imaginative pictures over and over to yourself — adding small details and refinements. As the pictures become more and more “real” to you, appropriate feelings begin to manifest themselves, just as if the imagined outcome had already happened. And this is the way that fear, and anxiety develop.

Uplift Your Self-Image: Psycho Cybernetics System
“Your brain is a self-image guided missile,” says Maxwell Maltz.
Everything in your life rotates around your self-image.
Put your heart into what you picture and work systematically and with self-discipline and focus.
Work on your self-image as often as you can; ideally, at least 10 min. per day for 2 weeks.
Verbalization greatly enhances visualization; it’s the key to strong visual imagery. If you are a beginner, persevere. It gets far, far easier to visualize after the first few stages of your practice. Your Self-Image isyour Goal-Image: Your self-image fundamentally provides your brain with direction. The image of your desired future makes explicit what is implicit in your present situation. Set out a program of practice. A normal goal visualization program would be 10-20 minutes per day for roughly 2 weeks. (This Affirmation sheet was created on: 10/6/2013).
Doing Affirmation is consciously choosing to think certain thoughts that will manifest positive results in the future. They create a focal point that will allow you to begin changing your thinking. Affirmative statements are going beyond the reality of the present into the creation of the future through the words you use in the now.
To wake-up early, Self-hypnotize yourself: “I consciously decide that I’m getting the perfect amount of sleep—that the hours are going to energize my body to feel wonderful in the morning—I’ll wake up @ 5 am by feeling better than I ever had before. I believe it and its true.”My Authentic SelfHealth – I’ve enough energy to carry out the activities of my daily living, till the end of the day. My 150 pounds muscular body looks like Chuck Norris. I look like a 35-year-old young man. My blood pressure level is 120/80; A1C level 4.5, and cholesterol level is ideal (90 to 140). My cognitive health is at its peak with a robust memory and recalling power like a Libra or a Virgo. And I have a love mental peace and satisfaction in life because every morning I religiously do these three things… meditation, gratitude and priming of your brain. Moreover, due to Yoga Diet, Vitamin-D and Psyllium fiber supplement my health is better than ever. I’m on my way to have a great physique.
Wealth – I always have an abundance of money. In fact, whenever and whatever I wanted in my life I got it. Yes, that has been the track record throughout my life. To put some numbers in it, I have a net worth of $10 million, I’m doing extremely well in my business by making $100,000 a month, which includes a passive income of $20,000 a month. I have a nice luxurious home in an upscale neighborhood of Sandy Springs, Georgia. I have three cars, a Lexus SUV, a Tesla, and a small BMW. The fun part is that all my houses and cars are paid off. My business is doing extremely well with 25 agents underneath me and they are all producing good insurance business for me. That brings me a perpetual passive income of $25,000 each and every month. This is a big-time mental peace for me. And because I myself sale infinite banking policies, I have a big-time job satisfaction. On the top of it I have a lead generation system through social media which generates me 100+ leads every month. Then I sell 75 of them at $500 apiece, and that generates me an extra $37,500 a month. And due to a predictable and dependable traffic and 25 agents underneath me, I work only 4 to 10 hours a week and still make $100,000 a month. In other words, my carrier is brimming with SUCCESS. I have virtual assistants who are helping me big time. I have some good toys, electronic gadgets, good dresses, a beautiful library at home, nice books, and nice friends to share with.
Relationship – I have 2 to 3 friends (millionaire) who picks up the phone the moment I call them, right away. I have a mastermind group of five people, and we meet twice a month either on person or on Zoom, religiously. I have my friends in different fields in life. I got a harmonious relationship with my wife, and my son is my best friend. The mission of my life is to enhance the education of my son in the scientific and successful manner. And the good news is that Alex is advancing with confidence towards becoming a neurosurgeon. And moreover, my friends, colleagues and neighbors love and trust me.
Fun & Contribution – The time that I spend on myself, and my loved ones, are very precious. I spend quantity time with my loved ones and quality time in my business. The biggest thing that gives me pleasure is to mentor others, and I’m doing it a lot. I’m also donating generously and placing a lot of money into charity. The church that I go to, has a loving and welcoming environment for me. I read good books for fun, go to jazz festival, play some indoor and outdoor games, go to the gym, and travel the world. Also, for fun, I invite my good friends, host them with good food and drink and entertain them. Nothing makes me happier than that. As a social animal I strongly believe that I was born to help others and enhance others’ lives. Which I’m doing all the way. And it brings a sense of fulfillment in my own life. In other words, I get more fun when I contribute more to the society. For me, they are intertwined.
The Art of Revision Technique
If you have heard or read about the revision technique by Neville Goddard and are wondering how to use it, then keep reading. If you are trying to cope with your past-trauma whilst attempting to maintain a well-balanced equilibrium in your present life , then the revision technique is certainly applicable.
With the ongoing situations, it might feel as if nothing is in your control and the disturbing news bombarding you from all directions might affect you even more. But the truth is that you can actually revise your own reality through your imagination.
“Nothing comes from without, all things come from the subconscious.”—Neville Goddard
An important point to be addressed is that many of you might be going through your own healing process from a past event or a trauma. It might be an even difficult time for you currently and that is why we think it’s the right time for you to use the revision technique by Neville Goddard. This was first mentioned by Goddard in his 1954 lecture in ‘The Pruning Shears of Revision’.
To apply the revision technique, you can follow the steps mentioned below:
If you encounter a situation that you found to be unpleasant, out of your control or regretted it, then review the particular event without placing any judgement on it
After reviewing it, imagine the situation by revising it in a way that you would have found ideal
Now get into a comfortable position in your utmost relaxed state
Begin imagining your revised version of the situation over and over again until it merges into your reality from your experience
Once you feel that this revised situation feels like it has actually happened, you can either go to sleep or wake up.
If you are ever called upon to recall the days events in the future, the revised version should come to mind. Then you know you’ve done it correctly.
You can do this at any time when you wish to but Neville Goddard talked about using it at night before sleeping to review and revise situations of that day. You can either do this when you want to specifically revise certain encounters, or you can incorporate it into your life as a part of your daily routine.
This technique is an offspring of his larger idea that your imagination is God in action, the creator of your experience. You are the creator of your own reality. Since you can manifest your own reality, you also have the power to use your mind, more specifically your subconsciousness to alter your reality. This alteration is your facilitator towards your healthy emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical growth.
“Dare to believe your assumption and watch the world play its part for its fulfillment.”— Neville Goddard
Intro-“It is as if personality itself had a face. If it remained scarred, distorted, ugly, or inferior, the person acted out that role. If old emotional scars could be removed then the person himself changed. Psychology deprives men of his soul. That we are just electrons and chemicals. Cybernetics is about man using his machine. It is not the child who is taught love but the child who has experienced love that grows into a happy, healthy, well-adjusted adult. Self-image Psych. resolves conflicts between therapeutic methods. The analyst never criticizes, disapproves, or moralizes, is never shocked as the person pours out his fears, shames, his guilt, and his bad thoughts. For the first time the patient experiences acceptances. Memories of past successes act as built in stored information. We can literally create experiences and control it within our minds. The human nervous system cannot tell the difference between an actual experience and one experienced vividly and in detail.”
Ch. 1 and 2 Self Image and Success Mechanism
Our self-image is our beliefs about ourselves. Most of them are formed unconsciously by our past experiences and what happened to us in early childhood. Your self-image must be a reasonable approximation of you-nothing more and nothing less. There is a recording on the brain that relives experiences as real as the original experience. Man has access to knowledge, facts, and ideas other than stored information. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes.
Ch. 3-Imagination
The secret of hypnotizing power-is when the hypnotist convinces the subject that his words are true. The subject then behaves differently because he thinks and believes differently. Our aim is to find the real self and to bring our mental images in line. How can we know the truth about ourselves? God created man in his own image. If you have been timid and shy, see yourself moving among people with ease and poise and feeling good because of it.
Ch. 4 Dehypnotize yourself from false beliefs
Having false beliefs is like being literally hypnotized. Subjects are able to do surprising things when convinced. Even if you have never been formally hypnotized but have accepted an idea from anyone it has the same power over you. It is no exaggeration to say that every human being is hypnotized to some extent. Either by ideas from others or what he has repeated to himself. It would be truer to say that a hypnotist dehypnotizes a person rather than to say he has been hypnotized. Everyone has some feelings of inferiority to some extent. In one sense every person is inferior to some other person. You cannot do things as skillfully as they but neither can they do a number of things as well as you. When you say-”I should be like everybody else you forget that everybody else is composed of individuals no two alike. You are simply you. You are an individual. You are unique. You are not supposed to be like any other person and no other person is supposed to be like you. Just as God made every snowflake unique.
Self-Realization- is a simple belief in ones own uniqueness as a human being, a sense of deep and wide awareness of all people and all things, and a feeling of constructive influencing of others through ones own personality.
Our currently held beliefs were formed without effort and with no will-power. Form a clear mental image of the desired and end result, and practice without effort to reaching that goal. Physical relaxation brings about mental relaxation.
Ch. 5 Rational Thinking
The fact that there are buried in the unconscious-memories of past failures, unpleasant and painful experiences does not mean they need to be dug out. These do not harm us as long as we are focused on accomplishing a goal. Ignore past failures and act as if they were impossible to fail.
Ch. 6 Relaxing
In the experience of writers-creative ideas are thought spontaneously. Be intensely interested in it and have a burning desire. Creativeness is natural. You can do only one thing at a time. You can’t do everything at once. (like cooking for me) Sleep on it. Dismiss those thoughts.
Ch. 7 Happiness
Happiness is good medicine. When thinking pleasant thoughts you can use your senses better and your memory is greatly improved. One of the most pleasant thoughts to any human being is the thought that he/she is needed, that he/she is important enough to add happiness to some other human being. “Most people are about as happy as they make up their mind to be.” We should store up moments of happiness so that in a crisis we can draw on those memories for help and inspiration. Dwell on the happy days of your childhood. Call up pleasant memories.
Ch. 8 Ingredients Of a Successful Personality
Have a picture in your mind of what the successful personality looks like. In addition to your personal goals have a cause with which to identify yourself with because you want to. Ask yourself-”How does this appear to him/her? How does he/she interpret this situation? How does he/she feel about it? Try to understand why he/she acts the way they do. Many times we add our own opinion to facts and come up with the wrong conclusion. It is good to admit one painful fact about ourselves to ourselves. Take a chance on your creative abilities. Have some interest in other people. Appreciate people because they are children of God. When we doubt ourselves we are the most difficult to get along with. A small success is a stepping stone. Everyone has succeeded sometime at something. Call up the feelings you had in past successes no matter however small it might have been. You are somebody because God created you in his own image. You have made mistakes but you are not one. Don’t hate yourself because you’re not perfect. You have lots of company. No one else is. Accept yourself. Be yourself.
Ch. 9 How to make the failure mechanism work for you
Recognizing some traits as signposts to failures can help you down the road. Perfection is not necessary or required. Dong things with other people and enjoying things with them helps us forget about ourselves. Nobody is right all the time. It is not required to be right all the time like in baseball. A person can find enjoyment in ordinary and simple things.
Ch. 10 Emotional Face Lift
“They cannot get close to someone because they cannot trust anyone. Sometime in the past they were hurt by someone important to them. If you are sensitive and take offense at some innocent word or act be too big to feel threatened. Be emotionally tougher. A certain number of people will dislike and disapprove of you. Therapeutic forgiveness makes the wrong as though it had never been. Relaxing everyday prevents scares.
Self-fulfilled persons-See themselves as liked, wanted, and accepted individuals. They have a high degree of acceptance as they are. They have a feeling of oneness with others. They have a rich store of information and knowledge.
Ch. 11
Unlocking your Personality
The unique and creative self. We make things worse when we are too careful to avoid making errors.
I can relate to this, “You can hold your hand perfectly still until you try to accomplish your purpose and then for some reason you quiver and shake. Then when you attempt to sign your name your hand trembles uncontrollably.” These people can be helped by training in relaxation when they learn to relax from excessive effort.”
Another example I can relate to of a salesman, ”He was painfully conscious of his every movement, motion, and act-the way he walked, the way he sat down, his table manners, and the way he ate his food. To cure it he remembered how he felt, and how he acted when he was going to eat with his ma and pa in the kitchen. Stage fright is the fear that we will be punished for speaking up-our opinion, presuming to be somebody, or showing off. You need to practice speaking before you think.
If you need disinhibition- Don’t wonder about what your going to say just say it. Don’t plan. Stop criticizing yourself. Speak louder. Let people know when you like them. Compliment people-tell them that you love them.
Ch. 12 Do-it-yourself Tranquilizers
To relax say the telephone is ringing but I don’t have to answer it. I can just let it ring. This mental picture will act as a clue for you to have the same attitude in other situations. Delay your response. You cannot feel anxious if your muscles are relaxed. Relaxation is natures own tranquilizer which is like a psychic screen or umbrella. Have a quiet room in your mind. Leave your worries at the foot of the door. Your mental quiet room gives your nervous system a vacation. Old emotions evaporate and disappear.
Ch. 13 Turning a Crisis into a Creative Opportunity
Practice without pressure and you’ll do more efficiently. During times of crises it has shown to bring power and stamina to ordinary people. Say-“No matter what happens I can handle it and I can see it through. Consider what is the worst thing that could happen? When a misfortune threatens look it in the face, stare it down, give yourself reasons when it looms for thinking after all it would be no disaster after all.” “You have everything to gain and nothing to lose.” “We should store up moments of happiness so that in a crisis we can draw on those memories for help and inspiration.
Ch. 14 and 15 Winning Feeling
Science confirms that there is a tattooing action in your brain for every successful action you’ve formed in the past. How to play your built-in success patterns-think of an experience where you succeeded in doing what you wanted to do, in achieving what you wanted to achieve, and something that gave you some feeling of satisfaction. For those being tested for abilities like telepathy-praise and encouragement causes you to do better. Concentrate upon positive imagery-positive memories that fill the mind with pleasant mental pictures of the past or something you are anticipating for the future. Old recordings can be changed. Develop an enthusiasm for life. Believe in miracles. If you believe in God you have a source of strength and power.
It is important to understand that failure feelings-fear, anxiety, lack of self-confidence are not a decided fate. It is not decreed or decided. They mean that you are underestimating your abilities, the nature of difficulty before you, and that you are reactivating memories of past failures. They do not pertain to or represent the truth concerning the future events, but only your own mental attitude about the event.
Ch. 5
Beliefs
Is there any rational reason for such a belief?
Could it be that I am mistaken in this belief?
Would I come to the same conclusion as some other person in a similar situation?
Why should I act and continue to believe its true if there’s no good reason to believe it?
Ch. 7
I will be as cheerful as possible.
I will try to feel and act more friendly to other people.
I am going to be a little less critical and more tolerant of other people-their faults and mistakes. I will place the best interpretation upon their actions.
I am going to act as if success was inevitable and I am already the personality I need to be. I will practice acting like this new personality.”
I will practice smiling.
I will act as calmly and as intelligently as possible.
I will ignore negative thoughts and facts I can do nothing to change.
Ch. 14
Success memory
What sounds were there? What else was happening around you at this time? What objects were present? Were you hot or cold?
Ch. 15
Six basic needs
The need for love
The need for security
The need for creative expression
The need for recognition
The need for new experiences
The need for self-esteem
Happiness & Health
Happiness does not lie in the future but the present. (Page number 98 of psycho cybernetics.)
“We are not living, but only hoping to live; and, looking forward always to being happy, it is inevitable that we never are so,” said Pascal
Cutting out practically all vigorous physical activity, we tend to loose some of the flexibility of our joints. Lack of exercise audit causes our capillaries to constrict and virtually disappeared, and the supply applied giving blood through our tissue is drastically curtailed. Vigorous exercise is necessary to Dilate the capillaries which feed all body tissue and remove waste products.
Old age can be postponed by slowing down the rate of waste production, or by helping the system to get rid of waste. In the human body the capillaries the channels through which waste is removed. It has definitely been established that lack of exercise and inactivity literally dries up the capillaries.
“Activity means life,” said Maxwell maltz (Page number 259)
Maxwell Maltz: Psycho-Cybernetics (1960)Your Brain as a Self-Image Guided Missile!
Watercolour of Psycho-Cybernetics by Salvador Dali.
The self-image in the sky heads toward the daylight, guiding the small ship below.
What is Psycho-Cybernetics?
Maxwell Maltz was a highly successful plastic surgeon based in New York. He found
that though he could change his patients’ faces, often they would still feel bad about
their appearance for psychological reasons; they were in need of a “psychological
facelift.” Maltz popularised the term “self-image” to describe this inner face.
In 1960 he published Psycho-Cybernetics in which he introduced his analogy of the
brain as a cybernetic “servo-mechanism”, like the computer on a guided missile,
designed to automatically find a path to the target (self-image) it is programmed with.
His book was highly innovative at the time and became one of the most influential texts
on the subject of self-image psychology and goal visualisation.
Cybernetics. Control processes in electrical, mechanical or biological systems,
notably including the negative-feedback-to-positive-results loop. Evolved in large part
from guided missile technology. (Maltz)
Servo-Mechanism. Refers to the “inner computer” combining memory search and
retrieval, creative thinking, problem solving, providing self-confidence, and many other
functions. Performs as directed through conscious, rational thought, deliberate use of
imagination, and automatic repetition of learned behaviour in congruence
with/controlled by the self-image. (Maltz) [= The brain as “serving” the self-image.]

Key Practical Points
1) Understand the basic psychology of mental imagery first.
2) You get what you put in; don’t be a dabbler. Put your heart into what you picture and
work systematically and with self-discipline and focus.
3) Work on your self-image as often as you can; ideally, at least 10 min. per day for 2
weeks.
4) Verbalisation greatly enhances visualisation. Discuss your image with others, write
down the details each day in a journal, mentally describe it as you meditate on the
details.
5) Everyone can do it. Worry is negative mental rehearsal. If you can worry you can
goal visualise. Turn the problem-focus into solution-focus, the negative into a positive.
6) If you are a beginner, persevere. It gets far, far easier to visualise after the first few
stages of your practice.
Self-Image = Goal-Image
Your self-image fundamentally provides your brain with direction. If it is based on the
past, or what you are trying to get away from, you are feeding yourself a viciously
circular programme. Your self-image provides the co-ordinates for your unconscious
“servo-mechanism”, the part of your mind that pursues targeted goals. Hence, the selfimage
is virtually identical to the goal-image, the image of your desired future self. Your
future goal represents the expression of your present desires, or if you prefer, it shows
your present potential being actualised. The image of your desired future makes
explicit what is implicit in your present situation.
Failure to accurately picture the realisation of one’s goals is a form of avoidance
behaviour, i.e., denial. Without consciously conceived goals, desires are consigned to
atrophy in the shadows of the unconscious mind.
“I can’t Visualise!”
Basically, everyone can visualise good enough already. We do it all the time. Most
people who claim that they can’t visualise really just mean that, at first, they are unable
to picture clearly. Unfortunately, people who feel like this often give up without ever
making a serious attempt.
The Opposite of Worry
Everyone can have a positive vision of their goals. Just do what you do when you
worry, but substitute a positive image for a negative one. Maltz: “anti-worry.” If you can
worry, you can goal visualise. If you couldn’t visualise positive images, you wouldn’t be
able to worry about the negative ones. Everyone can do it.
Relaxation aids Visualisation
When people become tense, stressed, or anxious they struggle to picture positive
images. When people fall asleep they are very relaxed, and yet even the person who
believes themselves to be the world’s worst visualiser will dream, and hence picture
things so clearly they take them for reality while they sleep. The more you relax and
stop “trying too hard” the more easily you will picture your goal images.
The Ease of Non-Effort
In order for you to feel you can picture images without force or effort you must assume
that it is easy. Keep it simple. Tell yourself that what you are doing is simple, natural,
and easy and it will be so.
Building Belief in your Goal
1) “Just suppose…”
Begin simply by exploring the idea of your goal. Refining it’s implications and
consequences. Define what you want to happen.
2) “It’s possible this could happen.”
Remind yourself that it is possible, continually reinforce your focus on the fact that it
could happen, feeling that it is a realistic possibility.
3) Picture goal “as if” it is happening now.
Picture your goal as happening right now, picture it over and over again, strengthening
it, and adding more detail. Build belief by telling yourself that it will happen.
Words build PicturesVery important: Verbalisation is the key to strong visual imagery! Share your dreams,
tell others about your vision of the future. Write down the details in your journal.
Describe your goals to yourself as you simultaneously picture them. This helps
enormously in focusing the attention, and also makes it much easier to draw out the
details and add breadth and depth to the content of an image.
Sub-Modalities for Super-Vision
It is useful to remember the different formal qualities, or “sub-modalities”, of an image
which can be changed independently of the content. These include: scale, colour,
brightness, contrast, perspective, depth, distance, direction and speed of visual
movement, and the borders of the image. For example, it makes a considerable
difference if I picture something in big bright colours, up close, panoramic and real life
size, or if I make it a small black and white image, flat and framed like a photograph.
Associated vs. Dissociated Imagery
Maltz does not discuss this point, however, it is very important. There are two
fundamental modes of self-imagery. Associated imagery is where you picture what you
would see having achieved your goals, from a first person perspective, i.e., through
your own eyes. Dissociated imagery, by contrast is where you picture yourself as seen
from the outside, a third-person perspective. Associated imagery is good for
connecting with positive feelings. Dissociated imagery is good for increasing selfawareness
and evaluating the implications of behaviour.
Frequency of Practice.
If you really put your heart into it, picturing your aim just once can make all the
difference. However, for most people, especially at the beginning, it is more realistic to
set out a programme of practice. A normal goal visualisation programme would be 10-
20 min. per day for roughly 2 weeks.
At the other end of the scale, if you really want to achieve a goal you might decide to
throw yourself wholesale into the process and picture your goal with all your heart in
every spare waking moment for as long as it takes to get there. You will get back more
or less what you put in.
Depression vs. Visualisation.
It is my personal belief, based on eight years of clinical observation, that depressed
clients typically find it difficult to picture their goals. There are close links between
depression and lack of personal vision. It is difficult to be depressed when you are
mentally absorbed in a realistic vision of the things you truly desire and value. Equally,
it is difficult to feel enthusiastic or motivated about life if you have a big black cloud
hovering where your vision of the future should be. (As there are different forms of
clinical depression, there are exceptions to this general rule of thumb.)
Freedom is Vision.
People often exhibit the fear, conscious or unconscious, that if they picture their goals
and make them specific they will somehow be tied down and lose their freedom to live
freely moment to moment. This is hogwash of the highest order. In fact, it is only
through personal vision that man can attain psychological freedom in any meaningful
sense of the word! We have goals and motives whether we choose to face them or not.
By picturing our goals we confront the truth of our desires in a way that makes obvious,
and allows us to deal with, their contradictions. If I have no vision I am driven by
contradictory and unconscious motives. If I have a vision I have the freedom to resolve
these conflicts and to refine, modify and improve my goals. No vision means no
control.
Picasso-Vision
A woman, courage bolstered by a few drinks too many, accosted Picasso at a function.
“Mr. Picasso,” she barked, “could I ask you a question?” Picasso humoured her. “Why
don’t you paint people properly?” she exclaimed. Picasso looked quizzical, “What ever
do you mean, madam?” The woman rummaged through her handbag and produced a
black and white photo of her husband. Thrusting it under Picasso’s nose she
continued, “Like this! Like this! This is how real people look, not like your awful
paintings of them, with the eyes all over the place, and the ears on top of the head!
This is my husband, you see?” Picasso took the picture from her and inspected it
casually. He paused, and returned the photograph to her sniffing, “He’s very small and
flat then, madam, isn’t he?” First lesson of modern art: not everyone visualises things
in the same way. Do not try to force your inner pictures to become “photographic.”
The Internal Confusion of Tongues
The emotions respond more directly to images, voice tonality and simple emotive
words, than to abstract concepts or argumentation. Images are the language of the
emotions. Likewise, the unconscious mind is the dreaming mind, it works with imagery.
When people are distressed in order to resolve inner turmoil they typically revert to the
same behaviour that they have learned from dealing with others: verbal argie bargie.
People have learned to try to argue themselves out of distress. I say “try” because this
virtually never works, and often just feeds the problem more. You might as well argue
with a baby or with a Labrador, the emotional brain doesn’t speak the language of
verbal debate. Realising that you are speaking the wrong language when you
communicate with yourself is the first step in changing negative behaviour and
improving your internal rapport, your relationship with yourself.
Problem vs. Solution Focus
People are motivated either by pain or by pleasure, aversion or desire. We either focus
on the pain of what we are trying to get away from, or on the pleasure of what we are
trying to get to. For example, if I lose my business and suffer financially and
psychologically my “away from” image is that of being poor and depressed, the pain of
that negative, problem-focused image causes me to want to get away from it. On the
other hand, my “toward” image is that of building a new business and regaining my selfesteem
and financial security, the appeal of that positive, solution-focused image draws
me toward it. People tend to become fixated on problem-focus when they are
distressed, and to lack solution-focus. Unfortunately, when we focus on negative
images, we tend to feel weaker and more distressed, this prevents us from taking
action to resolve the situation. Turn the negative into a positive, turn the problem-focus
into solution-focus. Problem-focus breeds despair, solution-focus provides hope and
energy, even in the most challenging situations. Remember: you don’t need to know
what the solution is in order to focus on the search for it. Where there’s a will, there’s a
way.

PSYCHO-CYBERNETICS BOOK SUMMARY (CHAPTER 1 – 15)
Memories of past successes act as built-in stored information.
You cannot do things as skillfully as they but neither can they do a
number of things as well as you.
How does he/she interpret this
situation?
“The cannot get close to someone because they cannot trust anyone.

Part #1 – First, Build your Self-Image thru Psycho Cybernetics
Part #2 – Then, Attract Money thru Law of Attraction
Your success model should be, “Be – Do – Have“ rather “Have-Do-Be”
And I think that was the biggest mistake I was doing all these days. I was only focused on following
the law of attraction and never paid attention to Psycho Cybernetics, or to change my habits.
Self-Image is like water… as they say, “Water seeks it’s own level.”
In matters of success, your own self-image will either elevate you or pull you down to it’s own level.
And that is the reason, before Law of Attraction, comes the Psycho Cybernetics. If you just elevate
your self image, attracting money will become so much easier. — Sunny Mitra
How to learn the happiness habit (Page 121 of psycho cybernetics)
Our self image and our habits tend to go together. Change one and it will automatically change the other. The word habit originally meant garment, or clothing. Will still speak of writing habits, and habiliments. This gives us an insight into the true nature of habit.
Our habits are literally garments worn by our personalities. They are not accidental, or happenstance. We have them because they fit us.10/26/2021How to change your identityJim Fortin Programhttps://www.jimfortin.com/https://salespsychologyacademy.com/join-now/?wlfrom=%2F

Content – All motivational gurus give you the content only, which is…
Context – Not fitting in your context of Life
Identity – It’s all about elevating your identity.
… You should instead match the identity of the kind of the person you want to be.
That is the reason you are not living the “info” you’re receiving from them.
It is “Context” not that “Content” how you apply that in your life.
Otherwise, you can intake a lot of info but you are not living it.

7: Actionable Advice For Success From Psycho-Cybernetics
Create believable and achievable goals and targets. Success begins with effective goal-setting.
Keep your goals focused on the end rather than the means. Once you have fixed the end goal, the cybernetics system will find ways to take you towards it. It is automatic.
Mistakes will happen on the way to your success, and they are feedbacks to fine-tune and autocorrect. Errors handled this way are positive reactions that propel you towards your goal.
Let your past mistakes stay in the past, and do not let them direct your future. Instead, focus on the present choices that push you towards your goal.
Trust your journey. Psycho-Cybernetics is a process that works. So, trust it before starting on the journey to your goals. Let it work automatically rather than try hard to make it work.
8: Principles To Live By According To Maxwell Maltz
Free yourself from the fears of past failures. Our past mistakes were our learning modules. We learned from them and became better. We do not remember them for the results they produced, or the fears the shudders they give us remembering those consequences. Furthermore, we must keep these lessons in mind and discard the fears of our failures.
Believe in your ability to change yourself for the better. People who think they can bring about a positive change in themselves, are the ones who manage to do so. It is almost impossible for others to change us if we, ourselves, do not believe we can change.
Trust the mind’s cybernetic system. Once we finalize the issue we need to focus on, we need to think about it deeply, exploring it from all angles. After that, we should clear out our minds of all doubts and worries about the results. We might even choose to forget the issue for a while. And then come back to it in some time. We will find our mind has automatically zeroed in on a solution.
Imagine a positive version of yourself. Maltz says our imaginations are stronger than we estimate them to be. Maltz points out our brain cannot differentiate between imagination and reality. Whatever blueprint we supply it with (via our thoughts and beliefs), it creates a reality exactly as that blueprint. When we imagine ourselves as incapable of being successful or as persons who are always going to be unhappy, we become that. Instead, if we create a strong positive image of ourselves in our mind (positive self-image), we become that flourishing winner.
Do not defer your happiness; be happy today. Never postpone your happiness. Don’t think you can’t allow yourself to be happy until you hit a certain goal, or bag a certain deal, or own a certain thing. Do not link your happiness to success. Success does not bring you happiness (find out why). If you are not a happy person, then success will not cheer up your unhappy self. Be happy today while going through your struggles.
Accomplish these 7 wellbeing needs. Maltz enumerates the seven needs we should aim at fulfilling to improve our wellbeing: 1. Love, 2. Security, 3. Creative Expression, 4. Recognition, 5. New Experiences, 6. Self-esteem, 7. Positivity about the future.

What is the basis of Psycho-Cybernetics?
Cybernetics (loosely translated from the Greek): “a helmsman who steers his ship to port.” Psycho-Cybernetics is a term coined by Dr. Maxwell Maltz, which means, “steering your mind to a productive, useful goal so you can reach the greatest port in the world, peace of mind.”
How does a cybernetic mechanism work?
A cybernetic mechanism is simply how a system operates automatically. … The control center (the brain) of the thermostat picks up a deviation from the ‘set’ program (being 70 degrees) and automatically sends a message through the electrical system to the furnace that the air conditioning should be turned on.
Psycho-Cybernetics
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psycho-CyberneticsPsycho-Cybernetics is a self-help book written by Maxwell Maltz in 1960.[1] Motivational and self-help experts in personal development, including Zig Ziglar, Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy have based their techniques on Maxwell Maltz.[citation needed] Many of the psychological methods of training elite athletes are based on the concepts in Psycho-Cybernetics as well.[2] The book combines the cognitive behavioral technique of teaching an individual how to regulate self-concept, using theories developed by Prescott Lecky, with the cybernetics of Norbert Wiener and John von Neumann. The book defines the mind-body connection as the core in succeeding in attaining personal goals.[3]
Maltz found that his plastic surgery patients often had expectations that were not satisfied by the surgery, so he pursued a means of helping them set the goal of a positive outcome through visualization of that positive outcome.[3] Patients thinking that surgery will solve their problems is an example of the XY problem. Maltz became interested in why setting goals works. He learned that the power of self-affirmation and mental visualization techniques used the connection between the mind and the body. He specified techniques to develop a positive inner goal as a means of developing a positive outer goal. This concentration on inner attitudes is essential to his approach, as a person’s outer success can never rise above the one visualized internally.
Maxwell Maltz drew inspiration from Norbert Wiener’s book, Cybernetics,[4] which describes both animals and the self-guided missiles he helped develop in WWII as goal-seeking mechanisms.[5]
In Psycho-Cybernetics, Maltz observed from Wiener’s work the following on cybernetic mechanisms:
There’s a “mechanism” which
can accept a “goal”
has sensing equipment (cameras, radar, infrared, lasers)
has a propulsion system
has a correcting device
has some form of memory
The operator gives the mechanism a goal and “starts” it
During propulsion, the mechanism subtracts what it senses from the goal from the data received
If on track, nothing is done and it keeps going
If off track, the correcting device shifts until “the goal minus what it senses” is on track.
The mechanism refers to successful moves in its memory, hitting the goal without having to search for the answer again.
He noted that Wiener sees that man operates the same way. From this, he drew the following conclusions on a human being:
A person, for what is conscious, is “the operator”, which can identify and offer goals
What’s traditionally called the “subconscious mind” isn’t a “mind” but a cybernetic mechanism built on our nervous system.
it can accept a goal–image and an emotion determines if it accepts it
The mechanism has sensing equipment like the eyes and ears
The various systems, primarily the musculature and nervous systems, propel the mechanism
The nervous system works w/ other systems as the correcting device
The memory can be used to see past successes, making future success more likely
The operator gives a goal to the mechanism (called the “Automatic Success Mechanism” and “Automatic Failure Mechanism”, which refer to the same mechanism).
The mechanism responds no matter what, whether the goal is “positive” or “negative”. It will move toward it.
The most powerful goal image is an image of ourselves, because it causes a wide variety of useful or harmful behaviors from the mechanism.
When successful responses are found, we can remember past successes, and our mechanism will repeat the successful response.
The core of nearly all bad results is the conscious giving bad goal images to the mechanism.
Maltz viewed worry, or focusing on negative possibilities, as generating negative goal images that cause the mechanism, the subconscious, the set of human systems like the musculature, to drive toward it. At the same time, he viewed it as evidence that you could generate goal imagery, and that you could “worry” about positive images instead of negative.
Positive results come from a positive goal focus. To see positive goals, he says that we need a realistic and adequate self-image that recognizes these goals as possible and consistent with the self.
He refers heavily to Prescott Lecky’s idea that whatever is not consistent with the system of ideas a person has will get rejected. To have positive goals that the mechanism will move toward, the system of ideas, primarily the self-image, needs to be set so that the positive goal image will be consistent with the other ideas. This will allow the operator to comfortably keep the goal image in mind, which the mechanism will act on.
We act on our mental representation of things, not the things themselves. We could respond with fear appropriate to seeing a bear, whether it’s an actual bear, an actor, or a large shaggy dog.
Negative feedback should be used to correct toward our goals. If corrective action on negative feedback isn’t progressing one toward a goal, the correct response is no response.
In cybernetic mechanisms, once success is found, it is focused on and errors are forgotten. Maltz encourages readers to recall past failures and unhappy moments.
He saw self-image change as self-image realization, “Oh, thisis who I am”. This is where dramatic behavior change happens.
Hypnosis is the relaxed acceptance of ideas (beliefs). Accepted ideas determine what we’re willing to see and therefore what goals we pass into the mechanism.
Each (agonist) muscle has an opposite, antagonist muscle. When a hypnotist instructed a weight lifter that he couldn’t pick up a pencil, he noted that the antagonistic muscles opposed his conscious effort, and he couldn’t pick it up.

It starts as…
Some people refer to using the LOA to ‘attract weight loss’ for example. They are actually using psycho-cybernetics rather than LOA to loose the weight. LOA is attracting something in from the environment and psycho-cybernetics is changing the environment through the self. They both have the same principles and techniques the only difference is the intention of the desire. Do you want to manifest something through you into reality or do you want to manifest something to you in reality? This is the difference between psycho-cybernetics and LOA but they work together to be a part of the same process. The process is manifestation. I believe a lot of people are stuck in their LOA practice because they don’t know about psycho-cybernetics.

Changing The Past
Now that you know that you can use this technique to rewrite your daily life events, you can also take it a step further in your healing journey to review, revise and believe in an altered version of any past trauma.
It might be difficult at first to review it objectively and revise it, however, taking the first step forward will allow you to open yourself to more abundance and happiness.
Focus more on your feelings and revise it and then replay the revised situation over and over in your mind until you believe it.
Once you take the first step and revise the situation according to you, you can feel a sense of relief within you. This is now your reality, your experience and only you have control over it.
Your manifestation power is not restricted to your present only, in the meta-physical realm the concept of time does not exist, hence you can use the revision technique to alter your past incidents for a better and happier present.
This is your life, your experience and hence your reality. You are the creator and hence you can create your own life the way you desire. You no longer have to be weighed down or burdened by any past incidents or traumas.
The revision technique by Neville Goddard is one of the techniques you can incorporate into your life for revising your past circumstances to live a better and more congruent life in the present and the future.
In many of his lecture Neville would refer to the revision technique. I often use the analogy of past events being like the ripples you get when you drop a stone in a pond.
The ripples represent the present and future events. Essentially what your doing is dropping another stone in the pond which not only cancels out the old ripples but creates new ones. These news ripples being new events and consequences in your life.
This is your healing journey use the revision technique to cancel out any unwanted traumas in your life.
In his 1954 lecture, “The Pruning Shears of Revision,” Neville Goddard recommends:
“At the end of every day, before you go to sleep, to think through the events of the day. It is never too late to change the pictures.”
“Your imagination is God in action” – Neville Goddard
Self-Image = Goal Image
Your self-image fundamentally provides your brain with direction. If it is based on the past, or what you are trying to get away from, you are feeding yourself a viciously circular program. Your self-image provides the co-ordinates for your unconscious “servo-mechanism”, the part of your mind that pursues targeted goals. Hence, the self-image
is virtually identical to the goal-image, the image of your desired future self. Your future goal represents the expression of your present desires, or if you prefer, it shows your present potential being actualized. The image of your desired future makes explicit what is implicit in your present situation.
Failure to accurately picture the realization of one’s goals is a form of avoidance behavior, i.e., denial. Without consciously conceived goals, desires are consigned to atrophy in the shadows of the unconscious mind.
The “Self-Image” sets the boundaries of individual accomplishments. It defines what you can and cannot do. Experiences >>> Conclusions >>> Beliefs >>> Self-image.
